Join the Events Team
The events team is responsible for organising monthly lectures, debates, and get-togethers. They contact people who could provide students with a unique perspective to (open) science, and arrange a time and place (either on-site or online) for an event. The team is also responsible for organising trips, and, for example, movie nights and open science-related pub quizzes.
The team is looking for active members who like event planning, and are comfortable reaching out to researchers. They meet once a week for a 30-minute catch-up during which they brainstorm about future events and assign tasks, and hope that you try your best to attend these meetings.

Join the Communications Team
The communications team manages all SIOS’s social media platforms and is responsible for promoting the initiative and its events. This includes grant applications, collaboration negotiations, writing articles and blog posts, and sending out newsletters.
The communications team is recruiting proactive members who enjoy getting to know new people and are comfortable with contacting people and organizations. It is an advantage if they know their way around social media.
